BCNI Philly Brings Citizens and Journalists Together to Collaborate on the Future of News Media

Last weekend Temple University hosted the first BarCamp News Innovation Philadelphia, a national conference using the popular BarCamp format to bring together creative minds in an effort to reinvent the business of journalism. The event was completely free and open to the public, and a number of notable names in the newspaper industry showed up to participate in open discussions on how the media could adapt to the needs of a web-savvy audience.

A pilgrimage to Philly is a bit much for those living in the Bay Area, but for those of us who couldn’t be there in person the BCNI staff are compiling all of the interviews and events recorded during the conference and making them available here. Below is a succinct example submitted by journalist Jean-Marie Evelly featuring Howard Weaver, former VP of the McClatchy Company.
