New York Times Covers a Spot.Us Story

We are very happy that the issue of shanty-towns in Fresno California is getting more attention.

Today the issue was highlighted in the New York Times.

You can see their multimedia here.

While it would be egotistical to say that Roxbury News, Spot.Us and KALW brought this issue to national attention over Oprah Winfrey with our “Return of the Hooverville” series, I can’t help but think we played a small part.

If you never saw Roxbury News’ audio-visual slideshow of this report, please do check it out.

When I saw the article on the front page of the NYT I thought immediately of your coverage. They picked the same city. They could have picked any number of cities and done the same exact article.

Well done for bringing this to the public’s attention!
