Spot.Us Needs Your Advice and Support!
The Spot.Us community is growing and we will write about that more soon. But right now we have two action items that need our attention.
- Help us raise the last $93 for to report on how the recession has hit the SF sex industry. ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT!!!
- Suggestions for reporting on small San Francisco business.
That’s right. Spot.Us now has deadlines that must be met. Our pitch on how the recession is hitting the SF sex industry has raised $407 from 15 people giving an average of $27 each.
But we still need the last $93 for this story to get funded. That is just 9 people giving $10 each.
Why is this reporting important?
Ask yourself this question: if the title were “How is the recession hitting the illegal immigrant community” would you still question its integrity?
This is a story about a community that is often discarded as illegitimate and mistreated by the media. In this pitch we have a reporter who writes about sex issues and is ready to take this in the most serious of fashions to produce a 2,000 word article. I support her efforts and I hope you join me. I want this story to be told.

2. We’ve recently published the first in a three-part series on how the recession is hitting small San Francisco businesses. The reporting can be found here on Spot.Us. What is most interesting about this effort, however, is that the reporters have opened up for suggestions on what should be profiled next. At the end of this first installment the reporters make a direct call for viewers to chime in.
Do you know a business that should be profiled? An idea on how the story can unfold in the next two parts of the series?
All you have to do is leave a comment at the bottom of the story.
