I can’t remember how many news stories I have read on NYTimes.com that were based solely on one government issued report. It is irresponsible that they don’t provide a link to the report in such stories. Presumably the journalist had to obtain the report through a public records request, I can’t imagine how many corrections, additions and follow up stories have fallen by the wayside because a reporter couldn’t be bothered to scan a document and publish it alongside their 500 words.
Fair point Ian.
