The Crowdfunded Clearinghouse Sweepstakes

Historians, take note. Earth date, June 21, 2008, Spot.us, the new institution for investigative journalism, paid its first reporter. That’s right, my $241.25 ($250 minus credit card fees) check arrived from ThePoint.com today.

The check is not shown at real size in the Photoshopped picture above, but when I slid it out of the envelope, I can guarantee you that it felt that big.
